The collection catalogue contains a wealth of data on the novels and can be searched by genre, subject and donor. We are now collecting even more data, including plot summaries and details of literary and cultural references within the novels. We are calling this 'enhanced cataloguing'. This data will enable more sophisticated searches of this exciting research resource.

We are actively seeking contributions to this data collection. We know that many people are reading the same books as we hold in the Special Collection and can tell us more about the books' contents. Search the catalogue to see if the book you are reading is held in the collection.

You can contribute to the data held on the collection catalogue by completing this form. In order to do this we suggest you look at a sample completed form first. You will need the list of genre and subject terms in order to complete those sections of the form. To complete the 'literary and cultural references' section we find it is necessary to take notes as you go along! The form also contains an optional 'book review' section: we'd love to hear what you think of the novel. If you fill in this section your review may be posted on the collection blog http://reading19001950.wordpress.com/

You will receive email confirmation when your catalogue form is received. Please note that in submitting material to the Special Collection you also agree to your contribution being used for educational and research purposes. If you have any queries or feedback on the process please email Erica Brown e.brown@shu.ac.uk.
