Cohen, Debra Rae. Remapping the Home Front: Locating Citizenship in British Women's Great War Fiction (Boston, MA: Northeastern University Press, 2002)

Discusses wartime writing from the home front, claiming difference from studies which 'reinscribe classic definitions by assuming that the war story is the story told when the battlefield conflict is over'. Examines in particular texts which defy simple categorization as pacifist or patriotic. Includes individual chapters on Benson, Hunt, Macaulay and West.
